Nodding Dog has been a creative partner with Maitland Council since 2008, developing a working relationship that has resulted in many memorable advertising campaigns in Newcastle and the Hunter.
One of the most memorable is the annual Bitter & Twisted International Boutique Beer Festival, which Nodding Dog has been developing since 2008.
Bitter and Twisted is a 2 day festival, with over 50 boutique beers, live music and international food, all held in the unique space of the 150 year old Maitland Gaol.
Building on an established brand that calls for broad comedy, strong visual cut-through, and an emphasis on the twisted, Nodding Dog begins the process by developing a series of campaign ideas that translate across print, digital, television and radio. These ideas can come from brainstorming sessions, strange lunch conversations, rough sketches and written ideas before being packaged for presentation to Maitland Council.
Following the approval and refinement of ideas, Nodding Dog then handles all pre-production planning plus all aspects of production, shooting TVC’s and photography.
Post production then includes developing posters, advertising material, website graphics, radio ads, and the completion and delivery of TV commercials.
Bitter and Twisted has since been voted one of Australia’s best beer festivals, each year being more successful than the previous and is now a regular sell out event.
