What we did
Think Spirits is an Australian distributor of some of the most well known spirits in the world. Looking for a creative partner, they approached Nodding Dog to help push their company to the next level. Think Spirits had been running successfully and was growing fast but its brand and marketing tools weren’t representative of this.
Nodding Dog evaluated their main brand and identified key areas that could be re-worked for a modern and contemporary approach. Taking an evolutionary approach to the existing brand, Nodding Dog re-worked and re-evaluated the brand, all its existing marketing collateral, developed all key documents and a master style guide so that every aspect of their day to day communications was professional and consistent. From letterheads, business cards through to corporate reports, proposal documents and everything in between.
Second on the list, was the Think Spirits website. A contemporary, elegant and user friendly website was developed to help showcase their growing number of products to the corporate market. This also incorporated responsive design technologies for mobile, tablet and desktop browsers.
After a successful development of the core brand, Nodding Dog was then asked to re-evaluate the “Think Rewards” program and website. An already successful bar industry marketing platform, Think Spirits thought it could also do with a modern overhaul.
Nodding Dog refreshed the brand so it sat comfortably within the parent brand of Think Spirits, and developed a new style guide and tone for Think Rewards. It needed to be edgy and aimed at the bar tending community, who are generally in 18-25 demographic. A new website was developed that showcased all the brands, news and events that Think Spirits regularly showcased. A contemporary website was created that used responsive technology for mobile, tablet and desktop browsers. A content management system controls the whole website for easy updates.
Nodding Dog was then commissioned to take care of Think Spirits below the line collateral for all of its brands. This meant ongoing artwork such as web banners, advertisements, posters, wobblers, trade ads and lots of POS. This includes work for some well known alcohol brands such as Jose Cuervo, 1800, Dalmore, The Kraken, Evan Williams, Stolen Rum, Fernet Branca and George Clooney’s own tequila – Casamigos being amongst over 40 brands.
With increasing success in the marketplace Think Spirits staff almost doubled in size. With this, Think Spirits decided to launch a brand new rewards program aimed at rewarding the bar tending community. This new program was called “Rewards Plus”, which allowed bartenders to accumulate points on selling Think Rewards products in order to receive free gifts such as movie tickets or overseas holidays.
Nodding Dog created the overall campaign as well as an animated explanation video featuring the charismatic John Gakuru of Think Spirits. Additional collateral included trade advertisements, web banners, flyers and EDMs.
Nodding Dog continues our partnership with Think Spirits and work on numerous marketing material on an on-going basis. Think Spirits are always happy to push the envelope and always on the look out for fresh, edgy and innovative ideas.
